Jonathan Jiang, research scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and former board member of the Foothill Chinese School, speaks with Virtual History intern Vivien Chen. He describes the La Cañada area in 1999 when he first came to work at JPL, particularly its Chinese community and cultural diversity as a whole. Jiang played an important role in forming the Foothill Chinese School in 2005 and helped lead the Chinese community during its turn to organize the annual Fiesta Days Parade. After living and working in La Cañada for over 20 years, he explains how the city has changed and how it differs from all the other places that he has lived, including China, Pasadena, Montrose, and Canada.
